How to synchronize contacts with blackberry

So how do I synchronize contacts with blackberry? In previous versions of Lotus Notes when I wanted to sync my Lotus Notes address book/contacts with my blackberry I would have to go to my Inbox – ActionsSyncronize Address book manually.

Now with version 8.5 it does it automatically for you with your Replication & Sync. To set it up do the following:

Go to File – Preferences – Contacts – Check of  Enable “Synchronize Contacts” on the Replicator

Now go to Replication and Sync icon on your Bookmark side bar, which is located on the left hand side

Verify that Synchronize Contacts under Enabled is Checked Off. You can now click the Start Now button to start the synchronize or wait until it replicates. Moving forward this will automatically synchronize your contacts from your Lotus Notes Address Book into your Blackberry and vice versa.

For those of you who do not have the “Enable “Synchronize Contacts” on the Replicator” option. When you go to Preferences – Contacts. You will need to get that users names.nsf and replace the template with the 8.5 address book template (pernames.ntf) locally.

This is a wonderful option if you are upgrading to it from existing transferred files. If you happen to be like me and have suffered a HD crash, when the newly installed Lotus 8.5.2 hits full installation, and syncs with your BB, your newly acquired Lotus empty contacts list will blank your BB of all saved contacts. I lost almost 600 of them. Thanks Lotus.
